Dana Cup 2026

Børge Christensens Vej 12, 9800 Hjørring, Denmark, Denmark

In partnership with

A non-profit organization runs the Dana Cup, and the event is one of the world's largest international youth soccer tournaments.

Every year, in the last week of July, the soccer tournament brings together around 20.000 young people between 12 and 19 years old and their coaches. They come to Hjørring in northern Denmark from 45 different nations, representing 1000 football teams.

Dana Cup Week brings a great party in Hjørring, and the atmosphere is amazing! It is the fifth Work Camp at this huge sports event, and it was a great experience in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. We are very excited about another camp in 2026.

Please read more about the event on the website: www.danacup.com

Description of the Work

This Work Camp takes place during the Dana Cup, where the primary focus will be catering and kitchen assistance for around 20,000 football players from all over the world. The kitchen will be the heart of the camp’s daily work, and participants will play an important role in food preparation, serving, dishwashing, and keeping the kitchen area organized and running smoothly. It is a great opportunity to experience the energy of a large international tournament from behind the scenes, where teamwork and coordination are essential.

In addition to kitchen duties, there will also be opportunities to assist with other practical tasks. These may include helping with the establishment of event areas, maintenance of indoor and outdoor spaces, cleaning, painting accommodation cabins, repairing dormitories in Dana Cup Town, and supporting general logistics before and during the tournament.

The work is expected to be organized in two shifts between 08:00 and 21:00.

Location & Leisure

During your stay in Northern Jutland, you will have time to explore some unique nature and attractions in Denmark. You can, for example, arrange a day trip to Skagen, the most Northern tip of Denmark, where two oceans meet. Skagen is famous for the special light, which has attracted many painters, cozy yellow and red houses, and much more. You can also visit the city of Hjørring or take a day trip to Aalborg.
One of the neighboring towns, called Hirtshals, has the biggest Aquarium in Northern Europe. And in another neighboring town is the biggest summer amusement park in Denmark.

Your Work Camp leaders will help you and the group with organizing activities in your spare time. It is free to enjoy the beautiful nature of Northern Jutland, but some activities might require an extra charge. The host will not cover additional charges.

Requirements

English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though they are from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best!

Unfortunately, the job involves some physical work and therefore we cannot offer any work to volunteers with disabilities. Participants must be willing to do manual work, work that is for the most part outdoors.

Host Organization

MS Denmark (Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke/ActionAid Denmark) is an NGO fighting against poverty and for justice and equal rights in more than 45 countries, under the umbrella of ActionAid International. We are fighting for democratic and sustainable societies where the individual's right to a healthy and safe life is at the center.\n\nWe believe the world is out of balance. Money, power, and opportunities are unequally distributed. To balance this, we in MS have chosen to work with different economic inequality, political freedom, and anti-discrimination themes.\n\nIn MS we work through political campaigning, where individuals can get involved in the fight for a more just world. Our campaigns focus on everything from organizing and mobilizing people living in poverty, to gathering thousands of people to protest in defense of human rights or to demonstrate against the occupation of Palestine.\n\nGlobal Contact is MS Denmark’s cultural exchange program. Every year, we deploy hundreds of young people to volunteer on MTV and LTV programs in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.\n\nGlobal Contact is responsible for organizing the Work Camps program, incoming and outgoing. Our Work Camps always have a wide focus, though they aim to help local communities. We will have Work Camps at festivals, municipalities, and other social institutions, and they will focus on music, social work, manual work, and work with children.
