The camp is made in collaboration with the association ALA. Since 2009, ALA association has been working to develop the rural area where it is based, revitalizing the spaces it occupies. Over the years, it has transformed abandoned structures into vibrant community hubs, welcoming both locals and international youth, who have been an integral part of the renovation process. The mountains play a central role in the community, serving for years as a space of active work aimed at making them more accessible through trail cleaning and marking. Through non-formal education and a learning by doing approach, the association offers a place to explore and challenge ourselves, discover our limits, and celebrate our strengths.

The camp will engage volunteers in preparing the festival together with the Pro Loco of Roccantica, with activities such as setting up the kitchen, arranging traditional costumes, preparing festival spaces, and caring for nearby areas. During the central days of the camp, volunteers will take an active role in the Medieval Festival, offering both logistical and artistic support. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to discover the traditions that define the Sabina region, working closely with local residents.
The daily workload will be approximately 6 hours per day.

Volunteers will stay in the gym of the Roccantica school, where they will have access to the school kitchen and shared facilities, including toilets and showers. Accommodation is communal, with volunteers sleeping on mattresses on the gym floor, and they are asked to bring their own sleeping bags.
The cleaning of the spaces and the preparation of the meals will be managed by the volunteers themselves through cleaning and cooking shifts. During the festival, volunteers will eat together with the local community.

Roccantica is a picturesque medieval village of 500 inhabitants located in Bassa Sabina, about an hour away from Rome, on the slopes of the Pizzuto mountain at 454 meters.
Bassa Sabina is a rural region defined by the striking contrast between rugged mountain ranges, gentle rolling hills, and the fertile plains of the Tiber River valley with olive groves, vineyards, and small hillside villages dotting the landscape. The free time activity will be organized by the leaders to allow participants to explore the village and the surroundings. During their free time, volunteers could also make some excursions, workshops and sports. Due to the relative isolation of the village, visits to Rome or other nearby towns will not be possible during the workcamp.
