This project is organized and hosted by De Amicitia www.deamictia.org. De Amicitia is an non governmental organisation that is funded in 1998 and actively working in the youth field and volunteering for 25 years. The main activity of the organisation is organising workcamps and local/ international youth projects in collaboration with the town halls and local associations. De Amicitia is part of Anna Lindh Foundation, The Alliance and WWOOF network.
We have recently acquired a house called CASA JAZMIN that acts as a permanent volunteer center in the Valencian Community, 100 km from Valencia and Alicante, where volunteers stay in our projects throughout the year.
De Amicitia is developing a VTHPA project to s to support people and communities affected by the DANA in Valencia. We work in direct aid, psychosocial support, education, environment and economic recovery with young volunteers.

Description of the Work
Our initiative contributes to material recovery, to community strengthening and to raising awareness about the effects of natural disasters. Thanks to the synergy between local and international partners, we seek to restore hope, improve the quality of life of those affected and establish a replicable model for future climate crises.
The work propose can vary from agriculture work to donate food to needed population, developing workshops with local youngsters, support local NGOs in Dana Area, creating concerts and other artistic activities with communities affected by Dana and to raise money, support elderies in third age residences
Accommodation & Food
The volunteers will stay in a volunteer house, Casa Jazmin, with three rooms with several bunkbeds and bathrooms. They will share rooms with four to six other volunteers. The house includes a nice kitchen in which the volunteers will cook for themselves in the guidance of the camp leaders.
You can either bring your own sheets or a sleeping bag. There are beds and pillows but no sheets or pillow covers.
La Casa Jazmín is recently renovated but there are always some pending tasks to complete because it is a house made for volunteers. Volunteers can carry out some basic tasks like painting, throwing out extra materials and organising spaces.
Eventually voluteers may move to other places close to Area 0 in the Dana to be able to reach easier locations where our impact might be higher
Location & Leisure
Sanet is a small town in the southwest of Spain close to Dénia (communidad de Valencia). It lays in the beautiful countryside, surrounded by hills which are great for hiking - there are a lot of hiking trails to discover. The house is located right in the middle of town, so there are great opportunities to interact and socialize with the locals and to truly experience the Spanish countryside.
Furthermore, the volunteers can make excursions with puiblic transport to Valencia or Alicante or surrounding villages like Denia, Altea or Calpe
The area affected by the DANA in the Valencia region includes a significant portion of the province, particularly in the central and southeastern parts. The flooding was particularly severe in the Valencia city center and surrounding areas, with extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and the environment. The DANA caused a massive water accumulation, leading to catastrophic flooding and the displacement of thousands of residents. The impact of the DANA has been extensive, with the Valencia region experiencing one of the most severe natural disasters in Spain's history.
