WHV Earliest 16th-Century Monasteries on the Slopes of the Popocatepetl Tochimilco

Description of the Work
The volunteers will participate in awareness-raising activities and
promote the World Heritage Education Programme and its activities in
local schools and surrounding communities. They will also learn and
practice traditional restoration techniques, which they will apply to the
restoration of an aqueduct inside the convent and its perimeter walls, as
well as the partial cleaning of niches in the former convent.
In addition to promoting World Heritage sites, they will have the
opportunity to give a presentation on their country/state's heritage to
students and local residents and will conduct a survey for site
management authorities by interviewing tourists and community
members. They will visit symbolic locations within the
municipality and explore the community's culinary heritage.
Accommodation & Food

The food will be prepared by the volunteers in a collective dynamic. On some occasions they may be invited to eat at the home of one of the inhabitants.
Requirements
• A sleeping bag (and a pillow if desired)
• Wear good work shoes and protective gloves.
• Rain and cold weather clothing
• Work clothes that can get dirty and/or damaged
• A flashlight
•Musical instruments, games, cooking recipes, photos, postcards from your region...
• A swimsuit if you have the opportunity to swim
• A student ID card, if you have one. You can lock up your valuables, but don't bring them if you don't need them. Everyone is responsible for their own belongings!
