East-West Camp-02

Çanakkale, Turkiye

In partnership with

This workcamp will be held in Güneşane Vakfı, based in Çanakkale.
The East-West Camp is a long-running program of Gönüllü Hizmetler Derneği that has been bringing together young people from Türkiye and abroad since 2008. The aim is to create an empowering intercultural environment for young people who may not otherwise have access to international experiences.
The camp particularly focuses on youth from Türkiye who have had limited opportunities to engage in the international environment. Through collective learning, workshops, and shared experiences, participants discover their strengths, gain confidence, and realize what they are capable of achieving together.

Description of the Work

Unlike traditional workcamps, this project does not include physical or construction work. Instead, it is an intensive youth program where volunteers take active roles as part of the organizational and facilitation team. Volunteers will:
-Support the planning and implementation of daily workshops
-Facilitate intercultural activities and group discussions
-Lead energizers, team-building games, and reflection sessions
-Assist with logistics and daily program coordination
-Support participants in adapting to group life
The program is highly interactive and workshop-based. Although there is no manual labor, the schedule is intensive. The camp lasts one week, and activities run every day with a full and structured program. Volunteers should be prepared for long and active days. This camp is suitable for motivated individuals who enjoy working with young people, facilitating activities, and being part of a dynamic team environment.

Accommodation & Food

Accommodation and three meals per day will be provided at the camp venue by the host organization. Volunteers will stay in shared rooms, with female and male participants accommodated separately.

Location & Leisure

The camp will take place in Çanakkale, a city known for its historical significance and coastal atmosphere. While the daily program is intensive, volunteers may have limited free time in the evenings to explore the surroundings, spend time by the sea, or relax with the group. The camp experience is less about tourism and more about meaningful interaction, youth empowerment, and intercultural exchange.

Requirements

The acceptance phase is a 2-step process. As a first step, CVs and motivation letters will be requested from volunteers and as a second step volunteers will be interviewed via Zoom / Google Meet by camp leaders.

Appointment

Detailed arrival instructions will be shared with accepted participants.
