Description of the Work
Volunteers will participate in Estiu a la Placa , a vibrant summer project aimed at fostering social inclusion and strengthening community ties. Key responsibilities and activities include:Community Activities: Creating and leading free, outdoor activities for the local community, such as circus performances, painting, sports, music, and cultural events to encourage intercultural and intergenerational engagement.Youth Empowerment: Facilitating leadership and promoting active participation among young people.Non-Formal Education: Supporting initiatives designed to break stereotypes, foster tolerance, and encourage cultural diversity and intercultural learning.Event Organization: Helping organize a special community dinner to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the hosting organization.

Situated just north of Barcelona, Badalona offers a perfect blend of coastal charm and cultural richness. Volunteers will have the opportunity to explore its sandy beaches, the beautiful promenade, and historical landmarks like the Pont del Petroli and the ancient Roman town of Baetulo.During your free time, Badalona s efficient public transport and metro connections make it easy to explore local destinations or take a quick trip to Barcelona to see world-famous attractions like the Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and the Gothic Quarter. Whether you prefer leisurely walks along the Mediterranean coastline or experiencing the warm, welcoming local community, there is always something to do
Requirements
To participate in this project, candidates must meet the following criteria:Age and Residency: Must be 18 to 30 years old and reside in one of the eligible ESC countries.ESC Duration Limits: The total duration of this project, combined with any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, cannot exceed 12 months.Background Check: Providing a clear Criminal Record or Sexual Offences Certificate is mandatory.Skills and Attitude: Candidates must be responsible, proactive, patient, and empathetic, with a genuine interest in spending educational and recreational time with children and young people.Creativity and Teamwork: Since activities include sports, creative workshops, and out-of-center events, strong teamwork skills and a creative mindset are highly valued.
