Description of the Work

Volunteers will have the opportunity to stay in several B Bs during their project. At each B B, they will be able to appreciate the atmosphere and participate in the daily life. Here are some examples of tasks volunteers will be asked to do:- welcoming groups;- creating and organising activities for training course;- creating and organising activities for school groups;- helping the organisation in the preparation of events in B Bs;- creating and setting up activities with the guests;- helping with the smooth running of the B B (serving meals, helping with cleaning, etc.).Volunteers do not choose the project site, but the association assigns 1, 2 or 3 sites and a program according to their requirements.


Location & Leisure

About the location:Kaleo offers to host volunteers in 6 B Bs spread throughout Wallonia: Eupen, Han-Sur-Lesse, Louvain-la-Neuve, Ovifat, Villers-Sainte-Gertrude et Wanne.They are the perfect places to rest and discover the Belgian culture.From the Hautes-Fagnes to the banks of the Lesse passing by the pedestrian university town, you will have the opportunity to discover Wallonia and its diversity.


Requirements

Kaleo is looking for someone motivated, dynamic, proactive, creative, who would be happy to take part in the different tasks of the B B and likes to participate in events and take care of children/teenagers. The volunteer must be able to speak French or have a good knowledge of it in order to make himself understood by the residents. The volunteer must be fluent in English.


Host Organization

International Volunteering Service (SVI) is a pluralistic youth organization run by and for young people, by and for volunteers. Apolitical and non-religious, SVI is opened to all and everyone, without discrimination of nationality, philosophy, financial resources, education or sexual orientation. SVI is registered in Belgium as a non-profit organization. The association mainly works in the field of international volunteering, but also in the areas of youth exchanges and intercultural exchanges between young Europeans and the rest of the world. SVI is recognized as youth organization by the Belgian French Community Government and has partnerships with many international volunteering organizations and NGOs in over 70 countries. Each year, SVI sends around 600 young volunteers abroad from 2 weeks to few months. The organization aims at generating young people interest (from 18 to 30 years old) in international volunteerism. One of its goals is also to promote citizenship, solidarity and mobility among young European as well as between young European and young people from other parts of the world.
