The volunteer camp allows people to be involved in the project and support the tasks of feeding, observing and monitoring the ibis. At the same time, it offers a learning experience and direct contact with nature, where participants can learn about conservation work and contribute to data collection. It is also an opportunity to create spaces for coexistence, exchange and awareness about biodiversity and the importance of protecting ecosystems.

Description du travail

Preparation of animal feed (chicken, beef heart and mice). ● Cleaning of the facilities. ● General maintenance of the facilities. ● Observation and monitoring of individuals. ● Participation in field studies. ● Collection of litter around the center.

The usual schedule will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. approximately. It is proposed to create two groups of 4 people, one coming in the morning and the other in the afternoon and the following week to reverse shifts. Occasionally, afternoon sessions may be organized according to the needs of the center. The most physically demanding tasks will preferably be carried out during the early hours of the day to avoid the hours of maximum heat. In general, the afternoons will be free for study, leisure or social activities.

Lieu & Loisirs

We can propose activities that we have, some talk, visit to the Estany de Vilaüt, visit to the Farinera ecomuseum, visit to the APNAE, visit to the Empordà and Cortalet wetlands and an outdoor cinema. We can also explain some bicycle routes to the beach.

Thématiques d'étude du projet

During the camp, activities related to biodiversity conservation, the role of ecosystem restoration and the relationship between society and nature can be carried out. Activities may include small talks about the project, workshops on biodiversity, bird watching, debates on conservation and climate change, and visits to natural spaces in the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà.
