Camp K 2026

Kullorsuaq, Greenland, Greenland

En partenariat avec

Greenlandic Children conducts social activities in Greenland and Denmark for Greenlandic children and young people in vulnerable life situations. We work to ensure that no Greenlandic child grows up in poverty, abuse, or neglect. Children must be heard and involved, and many more Greenlandic children and young people must have an education.
We emphasize that our efforts are established in close cooperation with local authorities, organizations, professionals, children, and young people, and with respect for local needs, wishes, culture, and language.

Greenlandic Children currently has ten ongoing projects in Greenland and Denmark and is present in all Greenlandic municipalities, as well as in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, Esbjerg, Randers and Vejle. The organization has thirty employees and more than one hundred volunteers. The projects are financed by public funds, foundations, support, and sponsorship from companies as well as private members and contributors.

Description du travail

Program and activities:
As part of our project, Ikioqatigiinneq, focusing on strengthening local communities, we are hosting a work camp dedicated to helping the community maintain their homes.
Several of the small family homes in the settlement need maintenance – mostly installing new roofing felt and outdoor paintjobs to make them secure and dry for the families.
We will be working closely with the locals from the settlement.

You should expect long days as we expect to work from around 10 am till dinner time. It may differ a bit from day to day depending on the weather, etc.

You are off on Sunday.

Hébergement & Nourriture

We expect you to stay in a shared room with other volunteers of the same sex. You will stay at the school where kitchen and bathroom facilities will be available.

We will divide the volunteers into cooking and cleaning teams. The group is responsible for shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc.
All groceries are transported by ship. Therefore, you should expect a limited variation and be able to adapt to these local conditions. Most meals in Greenland are based on meat and fish.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR ANY KIND OF INTOXICANTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT ANY TIME OR CIRCUMSTANCE. VIOLATION OF THIS RULE WILL LEAD TO IMMEDIATE EXCLUSION FROM THE CAMP.

Telephone coverage might be scarce, and the internet connection might be poor.

The Work Camp host will create a private Facebook group for the volunteers, and this will be the main communication platform. Therefore, you are required to join the group as part of the preparations.

Organisation d'accueil

MS Denmark (Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke/ActionAid Denmark) is an NGO fighting against poverty and for justice and equal rights in more than 45 countries, under the umbrella of ActionAid International. We are fighting for democratic and sustainable societies where the individual's right to a healthy and safe life is at the center.\n\nWe believe the world is out of balance. Money, power, and opportunities are unequally distributed. To balance this, we in MS have chosen to work with different economic inequality, political freedom, and anti-discrimination themes.\n\nIn MS we work through political campaigning, where individuals can get involved in the fight for a more just world. Our campaigns focus on everything from organizing and mobilizing people living in poverty, to gathering thousands of people to protest in defense of human rights or to demonstrate against the occupation of Palestine.\n\nGlobal Contact is MS Denmark’s cultural exchange program. Every year, we deploy hundreds of young people to volunteer on MTV and LTV programs in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.\n\nGlobal Contact is responsible for organizing the Work Camps program, incoming and outgoing. Our Work Camps always have a wide focus, though they aim to help local communities. We will have Work Camps at festivals, municipalities, and other social institutions, and they will focus on music, social work, manual work, and work with children.
